DESCRIPTION:The South Florida Association of Christian Counselors and the Graduate Counseling Psychology Programat Palm Beach Atlantic University will sponsor a seminar Friday\, Nov. 19 on “Understanding and Handling the Losses and Traumas of Life.” The program\, which will begin at 6 p.m.\, is for pastors\, Christian and lay counselors and anyone who works in direct service to those who have experienced traumaand loss. Admission is free and continuing education credits (CEUs) are available. Call Danne Pierreat 561-803-2368 for additional information and reservations. \n\nThis workshop will provide an in-depth look at the losses of life as well as the grief response. A major emphasis will be on trauma and its impact. Specific counseling techniques and approaches to healing will be presented.\n\nNorman Wright is the author of 80 books\, including Experiencing Grief\, The New Guide to Crisis andTrauma Counseling\, Recovering from the Losses of Life\, and Reflections of a Grieving Spouse. He conducts seminars on parenting\, recovering from the losses of life\, trauma and crisis counseling\, and marriage enrichment.\n\nDr. Wright’s current focus is in grief and trauma counseling and critical incident debriefings. He is a certified trauma specialist and a certified traumatologist. He is also board certified in bereavement trauma.\n\nDr. Wright has traveled to New York five times since 9/11 conducting area-wide Grief Recovery seminars as well as debriefings. Part of his specialty is workingwith parents of children or teenagers who have died or have been killed. He has also assisted in training seminars for critical incident debriefings for the American Association of Christian Counselors.\n		\nThe Graduate Counseling Psychology Program of Palm Beach Atlantic University is authorized to offer CE credits by the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work\, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling.
