DESCRIPTION:This program is intended to provide new and growing Palm Beach County businesses with a coverage template of most major local\, state and federal employment laws that will impact those businesses\, as well as a brief overview of the scope and impact of each of these laws.  The template is cued to the number of employees in the business\, but please keep in mind that there may be other threshold issues that will affect whether a business is impacted by one law or another.  This program does not aim to make participants experts in any one or all of these laws\; this program does aim to sharpen each participant's focus on the traps and pitfalls that lurk for the unwary.\n\n\n\n \n\nAbout the Presenters\n\n \n\nChristine D. Hanley\, Esq.\, is a Partner of Ford & Harrison LLP.  Ms. Hanley received her J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Miami.  She is Board Certified in Employment and Labor Law by The Florida Bar of Legal Specialization and is admitted to the Florida and Georgia State Bars\; she is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society For Human Resource Management.  \n\n \n\nMs. Hanley is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association\, the Federal Bar Association\, the Executive Women of Palm Beach County\, the Rotary Club\, the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches\, Inc.\, the Human Resource Association of Palm Beach County\, the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches\, and the Business Forum of Palm Beach County.  \n\n \n\nMs. Hanley has been awarded the South Florida Business Journal's 2004 Best of the Bar Award\, the South Florida Business Journal's 2004 Heavy Hitters in Human Resources Award\, the 2006 Academy of Florida Management Attorneys Past Presidents' Award\, a 2006 through 2014 Florida Super Lawyer as nominated by Law & Politics\, and selected for inclusion in the 2008 through 2014 Editions of The Best Lawyers in America.  She is a past President and current member of the Academy of Florida Management Attorneys (AFMA).\n\n \n\nBari L. Goldstein\, Esq.\, Counsel\, received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1998.  She received a Bachelor of Accounting\, with a double major in Personnel Management\, from Florida International University in 1994.\n\n \n\nMs. Goldstein is admitted to the Florida Bar. She also is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court\, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit\, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern\, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida.  \n\n \n\nMs. Goldstein is President of the Board of Directors for Families First of Palm Beach County and is a member of the HR Committee for Families First of Palm Beach County.  Ms. Goldstein is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute\, the accrediting body for the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
