DESCRIPTION:Top student filmmakers from around the State will be recognized on Tuesday\, April 28 at the Palm Beach International Film Festival’s (PBIFF) Student Showcase of Films (SSOF) awards ceremony\, hosted bythe Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission. The professionally produced\, live awards ceremony will honor students in five film categories\, including a special “Audience Award” that will begiven to the most popular student film determined by public online voting. A statewide screenwritingcompetition and film poster contest are also part of the showcase\, and two student filmmakers willbe honored with Burt Reynolds scholarships. The juried competition presents more than $25\,000 in cash awards\, prizes and scholarships each year and winning student films will be screened in their entirety at the students’ own premiere during the film festival. This program is funded by the PBIFF\, the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners\, the Palm Beach County Economic Development Officeand the Palm Beach County Film & Television Commission.
