Description

Felix Ungar, a neurotic, neat-freak newswriter, is thrown out by his wife, and moves in with his friend Oscar Madison, a messy sportswriter. Despite Oscar's problems – careless spending, excessive gambling, a poorly kept house filled with spoiled food – he seems to enjoy life. Felix, however, seems utterly incapable of enjoying anything and only finds purpose in pointing out his own and other people's mistakes and foibles.

"The Odd Couple: Female Version"
Florence is completely devastated that her 10-year marriage ends. She goes over to Olive's apartment where their regular game of Trivial Pursuit goes on. Olive takes Florence in and soon regrets her decision. Florence drives Olive crazy with her constant cooking, cleaning, and making sure they live in an immaculate apartment that would make Howard Hughes jealous.

The King Library is proud to present another summer of play readings. Please join us for a wonderful time reading the hilarious plays of Neil Simon in a relaxed, creative atmosphere.

We are very excited to have Mrs. Jan-Marie Cook back as our facilitator for a second time. Mrs. Cook has a degree in theatre arts from Florida Atlantic, is the drama teacher at Palm Beach Day Academy and a published playwright.

No reservations are necessary, and no preparation is needed. Scripts from selected scenes will be provided. Whether you are an accomplished actor or simply enjoy the humor of Neil Simon, there is a part for all. Call (561) 655-2766 or e-mail kinglibrary@fourarts.org for more information.
