Description

The West Palm Beach Library Foundation is holding its inaugural fundraising event on Saturday, April 8, 2017. The event, “Food for Thought: An evening of great conversations”, is unique in that notable personalities and authors will lead guests in table discussions.

Staged on the fourth floor of the Mandel Library among the stacks and with commanding views of the city, the evening will begin with an opening reception followed by an elegant catered dinner. Each table will have a host, selected for his or her knowledge of timely subjects, from arts and literature to food and science.  Guests will be seated at different tables according to their particular interests. The event is designed to promote a free exchange of thoughts, ideas and feelings.

Confirmed experts include:
Mary Simses – Best-Selling Author
Tim Luke – PBS Antique Roadshow Appraiser
Chef Lindsay Autry – Top Chef Finalist
Dr. Thomas Kodadek – Lead cancer researcher at Scripps Florida
Dr. Jack Harris – Paleo Archeologist
Frank Cerabino – Palm Beach Post Columnist
Harvey Oyer – Author
Leslie Gray Streeter – Palm Beach Post Columnist

Diane Bernstein of West Palm Beach and Beverly Myers of Palm Beach are co-chairing the event.

The West Palm Beach Library Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is independent from the City of West Palm Beach, was formed to support the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach. The Foundation, free of any political influence, secures financial and in-kind donations to support and enhance programs, services, collections, and technology that the city’s reasonable operating budget cannot encompass.
